Members of the Symphony Road Community Garden agree to the following:
1. PLOT PROPERTY
All plots are the property of the Symphony Road Community Garden as an organization.
Gardeners may not reassign their plot to another gardener.
An unwanted plot reverts to the Garden for re-assignment.
2. FEES AND CONTRACTS
Garden contracts must be signed and garden fees paid by April 1st.
3. PLOT ASSIGNMENT
Plots are assigned by the Plot Coordinator.
The assignment list will be maintained in the following order:
1. Existing members who wish to change plots.
2. Waiting list of prospective gardeners.
4. MAINTENANCE
A. Gardeners must keep plot and adjacent pathways regularly weeded and maintained during the entire season. Ripe produce must be collected &
removed from plots-- not left to rot or drop on the ground.
B. Plots must be clean and prepared by May 15th and should have a substantial amount of planting done by June 1st.
C. Clean up and preparation for winter must occur no later than November 30th.
This includes removal of all items such as poles, supports, gardening tools, watering cans, buckets, etc.
D. Planted materials may not extend into the common pathway beyond 6” from the plot frame
E. Water containers, such as bird baths, must not be at ground level.
F. Raised beds are permitted but are discouraged and cannot be more than 4” high.
G. Gardener introduced or constructed items (such as supports or other structures) must be no more than 60” high.
H. If a gardeners need to have someone from outside the SRCG community maintain their plot while away, they must notify the leadership committee, providing the designated person's name and contact information.
5. Litter and Waste Removal
All garden waste and trash is to be removed from the garden by the gardener.
Refuse is not to be left anywhere in the garden.
No compost piles/bins/containers are allowed in the garden, plots, or common areas.

6. PARTICIPATION IN COMMON AREA GARDEN MAINTENANCE
We expect gardeners to participate in at least two clean-ups which take place monthly from April to October.
The 2023 clean-up schedule is as follows:
Saturday, April 22
Thursday, May 18
Saturday, June 24
Thursday, July 27
Saturday, August 19
Saturday, September 23
Saturday, October 21
All Saturday clean-ups will be from10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Thursday clean-ups will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Clean-up dates are subject to change due to inclement weather.
7. MEETINGS
Attend as many invited garden meetings as possible.
8. CHEMICALS
The use of chemical (non organic) pesticides and any herbicide is strictly forbidden.
9. WATER
Conserve water.
Turn off faucets when not in use.
Re-coil hoses and place on granite blocks when finished.
10. CHILDREN
Supervise children in the garden.
11. PETS
No pets are allowed in the garden.
12. PERSONAL PROPERTY
Keep all personal property within plot borders.
Symphony Road Community Garden is not responsible for personal property or plants either within a plot or in common areas.
No one shall enter another gardener’s plot without permission.
No one shall remove nor leave items in another garden without permission.
Any personal items left in the common area are subject to removal.
Only gardening-related items for communal use may be stored in the designated storage areas.
